Our Ragdoll Colors & Patterns
Below you can learn about the various colors and patterns of our Ragdolls. Every Ragdoll is born white and gradually darken as they mature. Ragdolls usually reach their final adult color at around 3 years of age. As a note we only breed BLUE EYED POINTED RAGDOLLS that fit into the CFA standard. All Ragdolls have BLUE eyes and are POINTED (meaning darker color is at the ears face legs and tail). We do not breed Minks, Cherubims, Ragamuffin or any other mixed breed posing as a Ragdoll. BEWARE as there are many "Ragdoll" breeders popping up claiming to have Ragdolls when they are clearly not. A Ragdoll will not be solid in color or have anything but blue eyes.

Here you can see how dark his coat has gotten at full maturity. How quickly they darken up depends on the individual kitty.

Seal
"Seal" ragdolls have dark brown, almost black points. Their bodies are usually light to dark beige with some spots of white depending on the pattern. Seal Bicolors will have a mostly white body with dark beige or brown patches of color. Some seal kitties have points that are so dark they appear almost black.

If you note the darker color on his fur, it's gray...or "blue" as it's classified.

Here's a pic of one of out kitties skye as a baby. As you can see she is a very light gray, almost white at this age.

This is a blue bicolor. Her mask, ears and tail are gray, but her body is white.

Blue
"Blue" kitties have gray points and can have a slightly cream colored undertone when they are young. Their bodies are very light gray colored in mitted and colorpoint patterns. Blue Bi-colors will have a mostly white body with gray points and patches of lighter gray. The point coloring (face, ears, tail) will be a dark silvery gray which is classified as a blue and is the diluted form of seal.

Seal tortie Mitted ragdoll Evie is Suri's daughter. She is a seal tortie mitted. She has mottling of seal and red through her darker points.

Sunkist is a sweet boy who is the son of Suri. Her Tortie red contributed to this flame pointed coat. Males cannot be torties, they will display as reds. He is bicolor in pattern This is him at just over a year and a half old when his full color has come in. Photo courtesy of his human Mommy, Liz

Tortie/Red/Flame/Cream
Tortie are either seal or dilute (blue) with the addition of red (sometimes called flame) or its diluted form, cream. In seal torties, their primary point color will be seal and they will have red patches throughout. In blue or dilute torties they will be blue pointed with cream (diluted red) colored patches throughout. Torties will only be female. Males who display the red gene are either Flame (red) or cream (dilute form of red).
**Chocolate and lilac (dilute chocolate) not pictured. Seal, Blue, Chocolate, Lilac, Flame, Cream (and Torties) are all approved Ragdoll colors. These are the ONLY colors that nearly ALL cattery registries worldwide recognize as legitimate Ragdolls. If someone is saying any other variation of coat or eye color other than blue, I would question the authenticity of that breeder. Tica is the only exception wherein they call these cats with variants outside of the aformentioned colorations 'Cherubims.' Ticas Ragdoll Breed committee and the ragdoll members voted against including Cherubims as anything but a separate breed but the board arbitrarily made their own decision to include them in the breed group. Cherubims are not Ragdolls. Their registrations will reflect that. TICA is the only organization that legitimizes Cherubims in any way. The intention, even by Ann Baker was to create a *separate* breedThey are not recognized by any other organization. Cherubim breeders only want to appropriate the Ragdoll name because of the Ragdoll breed's wonderful reputation and we believe that is misleading and highly dishonest. BUYER BEWARE

Colorpoint
Colorpoint kitties have dark points on their extremities. Their feet, tail, and face are dark and their body is a lighter shade of the color that is on their points. Colorpoint Ragdolls should have no white on their bodies.

Mitted
Mitted Ragdolls have dark points on their feet, tails, and face just like the colorpoint. Unlike the colorpoint, mitteds have white "mittens" on their feet as well as a white chin, "bib" area and belly. Some mitted Ragdolls have a "blaze" which is a vertical white stripe on the bridge of the nose. The blaze can be a line, diamond, or hourglass in shape.

Bicolor
Bicolors are mostly white in color. The inverted "V" of color on their faces is sometimes referred to as a "mask" similar to a raccoon. The tail, ears, and mask is pointed with color. Some Bicolors can have darker patches similar to "saddles" on their backs and/or legs, but the majority of their body color will be white.
